This Week on the Farm 11/12

By admin|November 12, 2013|Information

Well it has been two weeks since our last update. Some of you may be wondering why the break in blog posts. On October 29 Tyler and I had our first child. Devin was born Tuesday evening and our last CSA deliveries were on Wednesday and Thursday of that week. Since then our world has been turned upside down and normal weekly activities like updating the website have been put on hold. We would like to thank all of our members for a great season and all of our helpers for getting the last week of CSA boxes out while we were at the hospital.

Although we are busy adjusting to parenthood and the lack of sleep that occurs with a newborn, Tyler is still getting farm work done. He is busy removing irrigation systems from the fields and prepping all of the fields for winter. With the help of my dad, he finished removing all of the tomato trellising and mulched the garlic planting with straw. This week he will continue to remove irrigation and hopefully get a chance to apply manure to the fields once the snow melts.

That is it for this week! Time to go change a wet diaper!
